28th June sees the start of the immerse sessions @The Croft, Bristol.

We are really pleased with the venue, it has been home to some legendary nights over the last few years within the dubstep scene here in Bristol.

The club night will be much like an extension of the radio show and the label, dubstep focus but all styles represented and hopefully exploring some new and interesting sounds.

for the first event June 28th 2008 (a Saturday night no less for all you 9-5ivers) we are proud to present:

Along side your residents Kidkut & ThinKing. The night runs from 11.30 - 4 am and door tax is £5 all night.

Bristol-based Forsaken has been producing his uniquely musical mix of beats and bass for several years now,

garnering attention from across the world, the web and blogosphere, but vinyl releases have been scarce save for a

tune on Immerse Records’ Substratum EP and a 12” for Peverelist’s imprint Punch Drunk.

Luckily, Immerse Records, celebrating its 2nd year, steps once more into the fray to deliver an imaginative twelve

from Forsaken which is joyously unfettered by trends or orthodoxies, and full of his obvious love for music, melody

and colour.

‘Hypnotised’ takes a snippet of Tweet as its mantra and builds a bumpy groove around it, where busy kicks and snare

drums are surrounded by snaking bass, and a subtle skank punctuates the organic blend of Rhodes and strings. Heads

down, eyes shut and let the beats run riot.

Fighting Spirit takes a more epic approach, blending eastern zithers with a wild selection of ethnic percussion that

takes a cue from London’s emerging Funky scene. Mixed with thunderous bass and soothing pads, Forsaken carefully

balances the mood to create a sure-fire future classic.

Fresh from releasing killer plates on Hessle Audio, Subway and Audio Freakz, Romania’s TRG touches down on Immerse

to deliver this highly-accomplished 12”.

First up is Time is Now, kicking off with samples of dystopian android speech mixed up with a simple flute lick that

gives no warning of the impending carnage! Snipped up breaks collide with whiplash-inducing bass action and

shuddering subs to make a guaranteed mess of any dancefloor.

Flipside, TRG gets more reflective with They Know, as wistful chords drift across the intro like echoes of some

long-forgotten rave, before dropping into a post-UKG boom-bass workout. Subs bulge beneath the broken 2-step riddim

and occasional warping midline, building nicely towards the killer switchups on the second drop.
